Halloween 2013

Even though it was raining, you did SO good at your first Trick or Treat experience.  You said Trick or Treat each time followed by Thank you!  As soon as you were done getting the candy, you ran to show Grandma what you got.  It was so cute!  We only did one block this year, but next year I think we could way more!

The Museum of Contemporary Art

Today was Family Day at the MCA and families got in free.  And honestly that is why I wanted to check it out.  I didn't really think that it would all that awesome, but I knew there was a park right across the street so I figured if you guys weren't into it, we would just play at the park and walk around downtown for a few hours.  Win win.  BUT...It was really cool and you guys totally dug it.  We will definitely go back once a month for each new "theme".  This one was Play and when we walked in they gave us this pamphlet with all the things to do and stickers for you guys to check off as you do.  They even provided free snacks in a "chill out" room.

"Look at that big head Mommy!"

I didn't get a picture of Aria doing this "project" but there was tape all on the floor and you picked a card that told you what to do out of a jar.  Yours said walk only on the blue tape and you did.

Rock garden chase

You got a piece of paper the size of your child for this project and as soon as we put in down, Aria wanted to help me trace you.  You obliged.

Tracing very nicely

The lady in charge of this activity loved how into you were and she made it rain leaves on you over and over.  It was adorable.

This picture doesn't do these fish justice.  They are huge.  Their tails and heads come completely out of the water at times and they were as long as my forearm.

All these photo bombing kids with their "having fun" didn't let me get a good shot of this balloon and noise maker station against the city background.

Dad make you this costume at the dress up station but the elastic was kind of tight so you wouldn't wear it.  You put it on for literally one minute and this is the one (out of focus) shot I got.

"I'M BATMAN!"

November's "theme" is Dig and I'm excited to see what kind of stations they come up with.  Next time, we will eat lunch sooner and hopefully be sickness free and we can stay longer.

Craft of the day: Handprint Spiders

The best part of doing art projects with you is that when you are done, your proudness totally shows on your face and you scream "Look Mommy, I made this!"  like I wasn't there holding the paint.  It is adorable
Other than positioning your hands, you did everything and like you it's perfect.

Field and Shedd "Field Trip" Today

With only one of me and two of you, I got few pictures at the Field today.  So here is the one I got of you crafting it up:
Dominating those fine motor skills

 Onto the Shedd:
Ugh can't wait to get my new camera lens, this would have been way cuter if it were in focus

This one too...

Sliding like a penguin

So here's the thing about this picture.  What is going on behind the shot is amazing.  You and your sister played with these two sisters for over an hour today.  You were the egg or the baby penguin sometimes and then you were the polar bear trying to eat them.  And the amazing part is that you were playing WITH them.  Your knack for social cues and pretending and the give and take of playing in a group is seriously AMAZING to watch.  We stayed so long mostly because I just could not stop watching you and your sister play so perfectly with these two girls.  Your sister was talking tons and right there in the action suggesting things and being very "agressive" (in the good way) with the other two girls and you were right in there.  They weren't coddling you as if they were playing with a baby, they were including you as an equal.  The one pointing was the 6 year old so she was the "leader" and she would give you your "role" and then you would just act it out and commit yourself to this character and it was amazing in the true definition of the word.  Amazing! You two were just smiling, pretending, and running and being blissful children for an hour and I loved every.single.second. of it.

A few more

All these ones were taken by Aunt Colleen this past weekend
