Obsessed much times two

At about 4:30 this morning, you started to cry so I went in there and laid next to you.  About a minute later, you started to spontaneously cry pretty hard so I sat up a little and rubbed your back and shhhhh'd.  Then you said, "Hug!  Hug! Cow!"

Really?  Only you have nightmares about cows.

A Bad List

Someone asked me how many words I think you say and I said hundreds.  So here's a shot at listing them. If it is a noun, there is a 90% chance you put a ze or a in front of the word.  And very recently, you are starting to use I in front of words.

Weekend Fun Day at the Zoo with Uncle Jacob and Aunt Colleen

Today were joined by Aunt Colleen and Uncle Jacob at the zoo.  From the moment Uncle Jake arrived you were stuck like glue to him.  Poor Uncle Jake got quite the workout from chasing you around and carrying you.  He was happy to do so though and it was so cute watching enjoy your uncle nephew bonding.  Now because you are an equal opportunity love bug, you showed Aunt Colleen some love today too.

LOVED the dinosaurs.

Dad attempting to take more pictures.

We were in a cave behind glass.

Trying to get into the fish tank.

Dad is HIGHlarious.

The boy totally photo bombed me on purpose.

September 13, 2012

Okay first things first.  You didn't nap today.  Let's revisit that. YOU DIDN'T NAP TODAY!  That sucked.  A LOT.  That has never happened before and you definitely regretted that decision about twho hours after you made it.  You are so active that I am seriously going to write this to you and then go to bed and its 9pm.  After 3pm, you definitely wanted that nap and for the next 4 and half hours I had to keep you constantly entertained so you didn't feel asleep anywhere.  I'm exhausted.  For reals.

Luckily, you and your sister played a lot together today.  Proof:

I love those photos.  So many baby joy it makes me a little verklempt .  You are doing a lot of "attacking" Aria and she thinks it is the funniest thing to ever happen so that of course eggs you on.  You are so aggressive and sometimes literally just run and tackle her and although you would think Aria would hate that, she loves it.  You definitely help to push her to do things that she may at first not want to do so thank you for that.  She will say, "Come play Asher" and you usually just gallop over there and do whatever she wants you to do unless you are doing whatever you want to do and then we have an issue.

This morning I was making a snack for the car ride and I came in the living room and you were literally standing on the top of the couch.  I yelled your name and ran towards you.  You then preceded to jump onto to the couch and then roll off onto the floor laughing your butt off.  I had a figurative mini-heart attack.  I sat in front of it and in my serious tone said that you are absolutely not to ever do that again and you seriously laughed and galloped away.  Fearless to a fault man.

You are OBSESSED with animals and the sounds they make at the moment. You have about 20 on rotation.  And I swear I did that list of 20 about 20 times.  If you say, "Asher how lives in the trees" you scream clear as day, "Monkeys!" and then make monkey sounds.  You will just come into the room and say, "Mom, cow" and you want me to say, "A cow.  Hmm...What sound does that make?" so can say MOOOO.  Insert animal and animal sound and that is an on rotation game we play ALL day long.  It's adorable and you always give all your answers with a giant Asher smile and I basically attack your faces with kisses all day.

You ate all the tomatoes out of my salad today.  There were like 5 or 6 in there.  Can't wait to change that diaper.

I went to go check the mail and as I was coming up the stairs you pushed the door open and had this giant smile on your face and came running to me....only to push me aside and say Grandma?  Grandma?

True story.

Weekend Zoo Fun

Dad Post

LB-

The other night I put you in your bed and said goodnight.  As I was walking out of your room you called after me and said, "night dad."

Today we went to the nature museum.  You took ever possible opportunity to go off trail and get into shrubs or climb over fallen trees.  At one point we found a bunch of stumps, dead logs, and rocks.  You and I immediately went on a mission to look under everything for bugs.  It didn't take us long to find a colony of about twenty tiny crickets.  Without a second thought, you stuck your finger in and tried to touch and/or squish them.  Your sister just laughed at your antics.  Towards the end of the trail we found a large bog where I promised you frogs.  There was a  little off the trail area where, sure enough, we saw frogs.  They were hopping around, in and out of the water, and sitting on logs not more than ten feet away.  You were enamored...until you wanted to find cows.

Love Dad

Snuggles

So while your sister started preschool this week, you took off the anxiety edge being snuggly and just you.  Perfect as you are.

Look, mom!  I got this bottle!
